TraysWhat purpose does a tray serve?A tray allows adjustment of the input work surface (where your keyboard and/or mouse is located) to the appropriate height, distance, rotation and tilt to accomodate an individual's ideal neutral posture. It can also be used to accomodate multiple neutral postures which is required in sit/stand workstations. Another benefit of a tray is to provide accomodations for multi-user workstations (for example, a mouse tray which can slide out on the either side keyboard tray can allow left-handed and right-handed people to work at the same workstation). A palm rest built into a tray can offer support for the palms during periods of rest from typing or mousing. What types of trays are available? There are several different types of trays available: Keyboard - Provides a surface for the keyboard or small footprint keyboard and mousing device to rest on. Mouse - Provides a surface for the mouse which can be adjusted independently of the keyboard tray. Combo - Provides a surface which accomodates a keyboard and mouse, usually attached in some fashion.
